Smart SIM Registration Null Error, and other Issues

Yesterday was the first day of SIM card registration, for all networks, whether its DITO, Globe or Smart network. One of the leading Telecom networks also experienced issues with the registration of SIM card. Even we, during the registration, must redo the registration several times, as during the registration several issues appear. From receiving the One Time Password (OTP), to taking photo of ID to completing the form.  According to DICT, at least 400 -500 complaints were received by the department’s hotline when it comes to issues with registration.

Smart SIM Registration Null Error”. It is one of the top errors that Smart users encountered during the registration process. But if you redo the submission again, usually the error disappears after several times of submissions. We think, the errors that occur is more with the server error, being overwhelmed with the thousands of users submitting their applications at the same time.

Below are the other problems that appeared during the registration process.

  • Sorry, your registration cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later
  • Operation Time Out, please make sure your ID is clear and non-reflective
  • Smart API Failed to Respond in Smart Registration
  • Exceeded the Maximum Number of attempts. Please try again after 1 minute and 20 seconds.
  • ID card cannot be Identify or not the same with the ID in your form.
  • Connection Time Out

Smart already release an advisory, after their system experienced some issues with the registration.

“Due to the high volume of registrants, some subscribers may experience difficulty accessing the SIM registration site. Our technical team is working on increasing capacity. Thank you.”

We do expect that the on-going registration process will be much smoother in the next few weeks or after a month. Stay tuned as we update this page with the latest issues with the Smart as well as Globe registration.
